Youth Workgroup Meeting #3
The third Youth Workgroup meeting was held at City Park in Park City on July 20, 2017. Our meeting was held alongside a Mountain Town Music concert. During our meeting, we discussed our definition of Arts and Culture and explored the idea that Arts and Culture are intrinsically tied to many aspects of life in Summit County. At the conclusion of our meeting the Youth Workgroup Members visited with patrons of the concert and spread the word about ProjectABC.
Finance Workgroup Meeting #1
The first Finance Workgroup meeting was held at the Park City Library on June 19, 2017. Our group included members of local government and philanthropy. During our meeting, we discussed our definition of Arts and Culture, to clarify that Arts and Culture, within the context of this effort, are much broader that public art, events, performances, or any one organization. The primary goal of this meeting was to explore existing Arts and Culture funding opportunities, and work to understand the nuances of each.
Youth Workgroup Meeting #2
The second Youth Workgroup meeting was held at Mega Genius Supply Store on June 7, 2017. Our group included youth leaders from across the county. During our meeting we discussed the value of arts and culture in Summit County and shared ideas for future project ideas. We also strategized social media outreach campaigns and scheduled volunteer opportunities for throughout the summer.
Creative Sector Workgroup Meeting #1
The first Creative Sector Workgroup meeting was held at Rotary Park on May 24, 2017. Our group included artists and other creative professionals from across the county. During our meeting, Creative Sector Workgroup Chair, Mary Beth Maziarz, led a discussions about defining culture and finding opportunities to unite arts and culture with recreation and open-space. Mary Beth also ran an exercise about the Creator's Hierarchy of Needs, a spin off of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. Additionally, we discussed the current strengths of Arts and Culture in Summit County, ideas for additional efforts, and identification of what we would need to accomplish these ideas. We closed out by iterated the public survey to be launched in mid-summer.
Business Workgroup Meeting #1
The first Business Workgroup meeting was held at the Park City Library on May 16, 2017. Our group included representatives from arts and culture businesses from across the county, as well as government representatives from Summit County and Park City. During our meeting we discussed the current strengths of Arts and Culture in Summit County, ideas for additional efforts, and identification of what we would need to accomplish these ideas. We also discussed data collection and iterated the public survey to be launched in mid-summer.
Non-Profit Workgroup Meeting #1
The first Non-Profit Workgroup meeting was held at the Mega Genius Supply Store on May 8, 2017. Representatives from many of Summit County's great Arts and Culture organization were in attendance, and local artist, John Helton, illustrated our meeting on the whiteboard (photos in the recap document). During our kick-off meeting we participated in an ideation exercise to discuss challenges, immediate ideas, and big dreams. We also scheduled arts parties for the summer discussed data collection.
